Terms & Conditions
These general Terms & Conditions apply to all products and services of Gobike Rotterdam.
Gobike Rotterdam provides mobility services and subscriptions (including single use subscriptions) to users, that include the following services and information: bookings and reservations, tarifs, payments and management of personal information.

One or more objects that can be hired together with the E-Bike, that can be attached to or mounted on the E-Bike to complement its function, like a child seat, navigation system, card holder, panniers and bicycle carts.
Any natural person who has registered as a member of Gobike and who has been assigned a User Account (for the sake of readability the masculine gender is used in this policy, regardless of gender).
The moment the Account holder starts a trip by logging in on the Screen and taking the E-Bike out of the dockingpoint.
The ending of the Rental agreement by correctly placing the E-Bike back in the dockingpoint (after which the Screen will show a confirmation of the trip end), or by activating the button on the screen which ends the trip.
The location where the E-Bike is parked and charged.
The place where one or more dockingpoints are located.
Electric bike that is offered by Gobike for rent, including all systems and Accessories that are mounted on or attached to the E-Bike, among which the electric motor, battery, electronic lock, and the tablet screen including computer and applications.
Gobike Nederland B.V., user of these Terms & Conditions.
The customer environment on a separate section of the Website, to be found via a link on the Website and on https://my.gobike.nl, by which the User account is accessible.
The means of payment linked to the User account (which may include iDeal, credit card, pre-authorized debit or any other payment form accepted by Gobike).
The set of personal data and preferences that are submitted by the Account holder in the signup procedure, which can be updated at any time by the Account holder in the User account, unless specified otherwise.
The procedure of signup as a Gobike member on the website, described in Article 4 of these Terms & Conditions, on the basis of which the User account is assigned.
The agreement to rent an E-Bike, possibly with accompanying Accessories, after the Account holder has registered as a member of Gobike.
The trip costs that the Account holder owes for renting the E-Bike and possible Accessories.
The time between the Check-in of the E-Bike until the moment of Check-out of the E-Bike.
All notifications such as (help) questions, reports of defects on an E-Bike or theft of an E-Bike, reports of complaints and termination of agreements of the Account holder to (the support desk of) Gobike, which can be submitted (unless a specific way of reporting is prescribed) by letter to the above office address, by email to the above-mentioned email address, on the Website (which contains a contact form), via the User account or by activating the buttons on the Screen intended to submit a report.The Website, User account and the Screen have menus that guide the Account holder with – for the average person – comprehensible instructions through a step-by-step plan, with room for the description of, for example, the detected defects and/or damage to an E-Bike. A Report can also be made by telephone on the above-mentioned telephone number. For Notifications with legal consequences this is regarded as being less suitable, because such a Report is not traceable afterwards.
The Screen of the tablet with accompanying computer and applications, that is mounted on the E-Bike.
The agreement between Gobike and the Account holder, on the basis of which the Account holder is periodically liable for fixed Subscription costs for a certain period and on the basis of which the Account holder can rent E-Bikes (with possibly Accessories) at a reduced rate for the duration of the Subscription.
The periodic Subscription fee, that the Account holder owes to Gobike.
The Account holder who purchases a subscription. For the sake of readability the masculine gender is used in this policy, regardless of gender.
Every person who uses or rents an E-Bike or who is a passenger, without that person being an Account holder (for the sake of readability the masculine gender is used in this policy, regardless of gender).
An online account that is assigned to the Account holder, by which the Account holder can purchase a Subscription, rent an E-Bike or another service provided by Gobike. Via My Gobike the Account holder can pay and download invoices, see trip history and personal information, provided a Payment method is linked to the Useracount.
User is the person who rents, uses and/or rides a vehicle of Gobike.
Overview of tariffs for the various Subscriptions and Rental agreements, such as the costs of renting an E-Bike, Registration, additional costs and deposit amount. The Tariff overview can be found on the Gobike Website and can be requested at the support desk of Gobike.
The website of Gobike, which can be found at https://www.gobike.nl and https://rotterdam.gobike.nl (addresses which may be altered in the future).
The Terms & Conditions apply to all Gobike offers and all agreements that Gobike has with the Account holder and third parties, such as an Account holder agreement, subscription or Rental agreement.
3.1 The Website and the Terms & Conditions contain all information required to determine as a natural person whether he wishes to register as a member of Gobike and become an Account holder and subsequently also whether he wants to enter into a Subscription and / or Rental agreement, such as:
4.1 By registering as a member of Gobike, the Account holder accepts Gobike’s offer to become an Account holder. An Account holder agreement is concluded between the parties.
4.2 By completing the registration form on the Website, the Account holder creates a Profile and finishes Registration. Registration can take place via the Website. The Account holder is guided step-by-step through a digital registration form.
4.3 The Account holder is obliged to provide Gobike with all personal data necessary to enable Gobike to create a User account, including in any case the name of the Account holder, his email address and his mobile telephone number. In the event of changes in the personal details of the Account holder, he must update these as soon as possible in his User account.
4.4 By completing the Registration form, a User account is created and the Account holder himself creates a user name and PIN code. With this username and PIN code, the Account holder has access to his User account via My Gobike and has the possibility to rent an E-Bike. The Account holder is obliged to keep the username and PIN code secret. If the user name and the PIN code have become known to third parties or there is a risk that they will become known to third parties, the Account holder must report this to the Gobike support desk, so the User account can be temporarily set to inactive.
With the Registration, the Account holder is liable to pay registration costs, unless otherwise specified. Registration costs must be paid immediately upon registration through the Payment method chosen in the registration form. To make this possible, the Account holder is directed to the payment environment in the digital registration form.
5.1 The Account holder must first purchase a Subscription via his User account, on the basis of which, by means of his User account and within the duration of the Subscription, a trip can be started at any time.
5.2 The time on the basis of which the trip costs are calculated, starts to run at the moment of Check-in of the E-Bike (Article 11 of the Terms & Conditions).
5.3 The Rental Agreement ends at the moment that the E-Bike has been checked out by the Account holder (Article 13 of the General Terms and Conditions).
5.4 The E-Bike must be checked out by the Account holder within 48 hours of Check-in.
5.5 The Registration and the User account will expire if an E-Bike is not rented by the Account holder within one year after Registration, unless a Subscription is concluded within that year.
6.1 A Subscription is entered into for a period of one year. After the first Subscription year, the Subscription is continued for an indefinite period, after which the Subscription can be terminated by the Subscription holder at any time with due observance of at least one month.
6.2 A Subscription holder will owe Gobike an annual Subscription fee, to be paid prior to the period to which the Subscription costs relate.
6.3 A Subscription entitles you to a specific Rental fee.
6.4 The invoices for the Subscription costs and Rental fee are placed by Gobike in the User account.
6.5 The Subscription Costs and Rental fee will be paid by the Subscription holder through the Payment Method indicated in the User account or will be debited by Gobike.
6.6 All available Subscriptions and associated trip costs can be consulted on the Website and in My Gobike.
7.1 An Account holder who rents an E-Bike, pays the Registration costs of his User account and a Rental fee.
7.2 In the case of a credit card as Payment method, the Rental fee will be captured immediately upon check-out of the E-Bike. As soon as the Rental fee has been paid, the invoice is placed in the User account.
7.2 In the case of iDeal as Payment method, the Account holder receives an invoice in My Gobike and by e-mail if the total sum of trip costs is € 10, – or more . If the total costs owed are € 15, – or more, no new trips can be started without paying the outstanding invoice.
8.1 The Account holder can reserve an E-Bike and possible Accessories via his User account.
8.2 When making the reservation, the Account holder will enter the desired date and time of the trip he wants to make as well as the desired location (Dockingstation) in his User account.
8.3 No later than half an hour before the desired moment of the trip start, or immediately after the reservation if the reservation takes place less than half an hour before the desired moment of trip start, the User will be notified by Gobike whether an E-Bike is available or not, thereby confirming the reservation, if an E-Bike is available.
8.4 If an E-Bike is available, the Account holder has the exclusive right to take an E-Bike from the specified Dockingstation during the specific time slot specified in the confirmation of the reservation. After expiry of this time-slot, the exclusive right of the Account holder expires.
8.5 Gobike is not obliged to confirm the reservation of an available E-Bike. Gobike may have reasons to not rent out an available E-Bike at the desired time, for example because the Account holder has unpaid invoices, because there are not enough E-Bikes available to meet the total foreseeable demand or because the E-Bike has been “adopted” by a Gobike partner and the Account holder does not meet the specific conditions for renting the E-Bike adopted by this partner.
8.6 Gobike is committed to make as many E-Bikes available as reasonably necessary to meet the demands of Account holders. Gobike does not have the obligation to have an E-Bike available at all times for all Account holders.
8.7 With regard to the rental of Accessories, it is exclusively up to the assessment of Gobike whether and at which Dockingstations these will be rented out. An Account holder cannot assert any rights with regard to the offer of Accessories for rent.
9.1 In the Tariff overview all rates are stated, such as the registration costs, the Subscription costs and the Rental fee. The Tariff overview also states in which cases a fine, surcharge and / or a deposit is applicable and up to which amount the fine, surcharge or deposit is applicable.
9.2 Different Rental fees may apply to certain Dockingstations, for example because E-Bikes at a certain Dockingstation have been “adopted” by a partner of Gobike.
9.3 By following the selection menu in the User account, all rates associated with the desired Subscription type and / or associated with the rent of the E-Bike and possible Accessories, are clear to the Account holder. Before purchasing a Subscription or starting a Rental agreement, the Account holder therefore has insight into the applicable tariffs.
9.4 All stated rates and costs mentioned by Gobike include VAT, unless stated otherwise.
9.5 Gobike is entitled to increase the rates annually as of January 1st. At least four weeks in advance, Gobike must inform the Account holder of the increase of tariffs. Gobike may announce this via a notification in the User account or by email.
9.6 If a Subscription is concluded less than three months before the increase of the Subscription tariffs, the Subscription holder is entitled to terminate the Subscription.
10.1 The invoice history can be consulted in the User account. Every invoice with specification can be viewed within the User account. As soon as a new invoice is placed in the User account, the Account holder receives a notification.
10.2 Invoices that do not have to be paid or released at check-out of the E-Bike (which is the case, for example, with Subscriptions, fines and deposits) must be paid within 14 days of the invoice date.
10.3 If an invoice has not been paid on time, the Account holder will be in default from the due date and will owe the statutory interest on the outstanding amount. Furthermore, if the Account holder still has not made payment, after a written notice (by letter, email or by a notification in the User account) by Gobike, whereby Gobike sends the Account holder a notice to pay the outstanding invoice within sixteen days, the Account holder is due for extrajudicial costs in accordance with the Extrajudicial Collection Costs Decree (Besluit Buitengerechtelijke Incassokosten, BIK).
10.4 Gobike has the right not to accept a Rental agreement with the Account holder, if the Account holder has not paid one or more invoices in time. Furthermore, Gobike is then entitled to block the Account holder’s User account until full payment has been made. In that case, Gobike is also entitled to refuse a new application for a User account in the name of the Account holder or in the name of one of his family members.
11.1 By logging in on the Screen and starting a trip, the E-Bike is checked in by the Account holder. From that moment on the Rental fee will be charged to the Account holder.
11.2 As soon as the Account holder has checked in the E-Bike, the Account holder must submit the E-Bike with possible Accessories to a visual check and a short usage check. In this check, among other things (but not exclusively), it must be investigated whether the bell, the brakes, the lights, the electronic lock and the Screen function properly, as well as the handlebars, the saddle and the pedals being mounted well and the tires being in good condition.
11.3 If a defect or damage (further referred to as “defect”) is found during this inspection, such as external damage or missing and / or dysfunctional parts, the Account holder must report the defect to Gobike as soon as possible. In that case, the Account holder must describe the identified defect as accurately as possible.
11.4 If the defect makes the use of the E-Bike impossible or considerably more difficult, can cause danger (such as faulty brakes) or if using the E-Bike can make the defect worse, then the Account holder must also check out the E-Bike by returning the E-Bike in a Dockingpoint or by ending the ride by activating the appropriate button on the Screen which ends the trip. The Rental agreement is hereby dissolved by law and no costs will be charged to the Account holder. Any costs that have already been written off will be refunded, provided that the defect does indeed justify the dissolution.
11.5 In the case referred to in Article 11.4, Gobike will provide another E-Bike, provided that at that moment there is an E-Bike ready available or available at a Dockingstation nearby (within walking distance). This E-Bike will have to be checked in again by the Account holder.
11.6 If during the visual or usage check the E-Bike proves to have an inappropriate (for example, too large) frame size, as a result of which the Account holder cannot operate the E-Bike safely, the E-Bike must be checked out immediately by placing the E-Bike back in the Dockingpoint or by ending the trip by activating the appropriate button on the Screen.
12.1 The Account holder is entitled to check-in two E-Bikes per User account at the same time.
12.2 The Account holder guarantees that anyone who makes use of an E-Bike by means of his User account, complies with the obligations that apply to the Rental Agreement of the Account Holder, including the obligations that apply in accordance with the Terms & Conditions. If the Third user does not comply with the provisions, this will be on behalf of and at the risk of the Account holder.
12.3 The Account holder must use the E-Bike as may be expected of a competent bicycle operator, while observing the applicable laws and regulations (traffic rules) and standards of decency. For example, the Account holder must refrain from jeopardizing behaviour and is not entitled to use the E-Bike on surfaces and grounds that are not suitable for E-Bikes, such as unpaved roads, or otherwise perform or allow actions that cause damage to the E-Bike (and / or the Accessories).
12.4 The Account holder may not carry other persons on the E-Bike, other than by means of Accessories provided by Gobike, such as child seats, intended for such use. In that case, the child in question must comply with the maximum age, the maximum length and the maximum age that is set for the use of such child seats. The luggage carrier is expressly not an Accessory intended for transporting people.
12.5 If the E-Bike shows a defect during the trip, then the Account holder is obliged to report the defect to Gobike as soon as possible.
12.6 If the defect referred to in article 12.5 is of such nature that further use of the E-Bike is impossible or considerably more difficult, can present a risk (such as faulty brakes) or can make the defect worse, then the Account holder must check out the E-Bike at the nearest Dockingstation by placing the E-Bike in a free Dockingpoint, or by activating the appropriate button on the Screen. The Rental agreement is hereby dissolved by law and only the ride time up to the moment of the notification will be charged; any costs for extra ride time will be refunded, provided the defect justifies the dissolution.
12.7 In the case referred to in Article 12.6, Gobike will provide another E-Bike, provided that at that moment there is an E-Bike ready available or available at a Dockingstation nearby (within walking distance). This E-Bike will have to be checked in again by the Account holder.
12.8 The Account holder is not entitled to make changes to the E-Bike and / or Accessories.
12.9 When parking the E-Bike outside a Dockingpoint, the Account holder always secures the E-Bike with the supplied lock(s).
12.10 The Account holder must report loss and theft of an E-Bike to Gobike as soon as reasonably possible. The Account holder must in that case indicate as accurately as possible when and where he has last seen the E-Bike. The Rental period will continue to run until the Account holder has notified Gobike of the loss or theft in the aforementioned manner.
12.11 In the event of loss or theft of the E-Bike, the Account holder must also report this as quickly as reasonably possible to the local police and send an official proof of the police statement to (the support desk of) Gobike within five working days of the declaration, optionally by sending a letter or by email.
12.12 The Account holder is not entitled to use the E-Bike outside the Netherlands and must limit its radius to such an extent that he is capable of checking out the E-Bike properly at a Dockingstation within 48 hours.
13.1 The Rental agreement ends at the moment that the E-Bike (with possible Accessories) has been checked out by the Account holder by placing the E-Bike in a Dockingpoint at a Dockingstation. If there are no free Dockingpoints available at the Dockingstation, the E-Bike can also be checked out at no extra cost by activating the appropriate button on the Screen. In doing so, the E-Bike must be placed on the kickstand and locked next to the Dockingstation.
13.2 Before proceeding to Check-out, the Account holder must visually inspect the E-Bike (with possible Accessories) for possible defects that arose after the Rental agreement started, and report these defects, if any, to Gobike.
13.3 If the Account holder does not hand in the E-Bike in the way described in Article 13.1, the Account holder will owe extra costs as stated in the Tariff overview. Only in so far as the damage suffered by Gobike by violation of the provisions in Article 13.2 exceeds the amount of the fine, the Account holder is also obliged to compensate Gobike for the part of the damage not covered by the penalty.
13.4 If the Account holder does not check out the E-Bike within 48 hours, the Account holder may owe a surcharge on the Rental fee, which is specified in the Tariff overview.
13.5 If the Account holder has not checked out the E-Bike within 15 days, the purchase value minus the depreciation value of the E-Bike, based on a depreciation period of five years, will be charged to the Account holder. As long as this amount has not been paid, the Account holder will also owe the Rental fee and surcharges.
13.6 If the Account holder eventually checks out the E-Bike after 15 days without any damage, the obligation to reimburse the purchase value referred to in Article 13.5 will be cancelled and the sums already debited in relation therewith will be refunded. The Rental fee including surcharges up to the time of Check-out remains due.
13.7 The provisions of Article 13.6 do not apply if there is a situation of force majeure as a result of which the Account holder is not able to check out the E-Bike in time and the Account holder has reported this to Gobike within 48 hours after the check-in of the E-Bike.
13.8 Through the Screen or via the User account, the Account holder has access to information regarding the nearest Dockingstations and Dockingpoints available at the time of consultation.
13.9 If the Account Holder is in the vicinity of a Dockingstation, this will be indicated on the Screen of the E-Bike.
14.1 If one of the parties fails to fulfil an obligation under an agreement, the other party shall be entitled to dissolve the agreement, provided that this right accrues to that party on the grounds of the law. Furthermore, with regard to the Account holder, the dissolution options as referred to in Sections 9.6, 11.4, 12.6 and 19.2 of the Terms & Conditions specifically apply.
14.2 The consumer Account holder and / or Subscription holder has a right of dissolution as referred to in Section 6: 230o of the Dutch Civil Code, whereby the Account holder and / or Subscription holder, without giving reasons and up to fourteen days after the conclusion of the Agreement (Account holder Agreement and / or Subscription and / or any other agreement via the internet concluded with Gobike), has the authority to dissolve / revoke the agreement with Gobike by filling in (whether or not digitally) the dissolution form of appendix 1 part B of the “Implementation Act Consumer Rights Directive”, which form can be found in the User Account or on the Website via this link (only in Dutch). Dissolution is no longer possible if the service has already started with the approval of the Account holder and the Account holder has declared to waive its right of dissolution as soon as Gobike has fulfilled the agreement.
14.3 If one of the parties has a due and payable claim against the other party, that party shall be entitled to suspend the fulfilment of his obligation until payment of his claim takes place, provided that this right of suspension is vested in that party by virtue of the law.
14.4 If the Account holder fails to comply with one or more of the obligations arising from the Agreement, including the Terms & Conditions, Gobike also has the right to temporarily block the User account until obligations are fulfilled. .
14.5 If the Account holder holds an E-Bike (and possibly Accessories) at the time of dissolution of the Subscription and / or the Rental agreement, then the Account holder is obliged to immediately return the E-Bike (with any Accessories) as described in Section 13.1 of the Terms & Conditions.
15.1 Gobike is not liable for damage to and / or of the Account holder in the context of the formation and / or execution of the Subscription agreement and / or Rental agreement, with the exception of that which is stipulated in this article, whereby the basis is that Gobike may only be liable for damage caused by a shortcoming attributable to it.
15.2 Gobike’s liability is limited, if Gobike is liable under this Article, to the amount of the payment made by its insurance, plus the applicable deductible. If the insurance in any case offers no cover or does not pay, the liability is limited to three times the annual fee owed by the Contract holder for the Subscription concluded by it and up to three times the annual rate on the basis of the cheapest Subscription, if the Account holder does not have a Subscription agreement.
15.3 Gobike’s liability is limited to the direct damage. Gobike’s liability for indirect damage / consequential damage, including, but not limited to, loss of earnings, trading loss (loss of profit, stagnation damage, etc.), missed savings and delay damage are not eligible for compensation; the same applies to immaterial damage. For example, Gobike is not liable for any consequential damage resulting from the fact that the Account holder has (temporarily) not been able to use an E-Bike and Gobike has no other E-Bike available. If such a situation arises, however, the Account holder is not due any Rental fee for the duration that the E-Bike has not been usable by a cause attributable to Gobike and Gobike has no other E-Bike available.
15.4 The Account Holder indemnifies Gobike against claims from a Third user, if the Account holder has allowed this Third user to use the E-Bike without explicit permission from Gobike, including a fellow passenger, except for children who are in a rented child seat and the age, length and weight of this child are such that the child seat may be used safely. If the Account holder has allowed a Third user to use the E-Bike with the explicit consent of Gobike and this Third user suffers damage as a result of this use, then all exclusions and limitations in liability as stipulated in Article 16 will also apply to this Third user.
15.5 During the rental period, the Account holder must ensure proper insurance against Statutory Liability (WA) and must ensure that every Third user whom he lets make use of the E-Bike has such insurance during the rental period. This in order to ensure that damage caused to third parties during the use of the E-Bike can be recovered from the Account holders or Third users liability insurance.
15.6 The limitations / exclusions of liability included in this Article do not apply if the damage is due to intent or gross negligence of Gobike or his supervisors.
16.1 The Account holder is liable for all defects of the E-Bike and / or any Accessories as well as for theft and loss of the E-Bike and / or Accessories and for all defects caused to a third party by the Account holder and / or Third user, unless the defect or the theft or loss cannot be attributed to the Account holder and / or Third user or is not unlawful.
16.2 If the loss and / or theft is not reported to Gobike in time and / or the Account holder does not timely report the loss and / or theft, as referred to in articles 12.10 and 12.11 of the Terms & Conditions, then the Account holder is liable for the damage suffered by Gobike as a result of the late notification / statement.
16.3 Gobike is entitled to charge the reasonable costs of repair and / or replacement of the E-Bike and / or Accessories to the Account holder, if the defect is caused by an attributable shortcoming of the Account holder.
16.4 Account holder shall be liable towards Gobike for (the consequences of) fines imposed by third parties on Gobike and for third-party claims against Gobike, which are the result of any attributable non-fulfilment by the Account holder of the obligations arising from any agreement with Gobike and / or are the result of criminal law (including Mulder Law) and / or unlawful acts / omissions of the Account holder and / or Third user. The same applies to all costs incurred by Gobike to limit the damage in this respect.
17.1 Complaints about the execution of an agreement must be reported to Gobike in a timely, complete and clear manner. Complaints that are reported within two (2) months are in any case timely. Gobike will respond to the complaint notification within (4) weeks in writing (by post, email or via the User account) or communicate to the Account holder the time reasonably required for replying. This notice may also include a request for the provision of further information and the submission of additional supporting documents, which, in Gobike’s opinion, are necessary to answer the complaint.
18.1 Gobike has the right to use services of subcontractors.
18.2 Gobike is entitled to transfer all or parts of its right and obligations to third parties. In that case, the Account holder is at all times entitled to dissolve the Subscription and / or the relevant (Rental) Agreement in question on which the transfer of rights and obligations occurs, unless the transfer of rights and obligations takes place in the context of the transfer of the Gobike company.
19.1 Gobike reserves the right to change the Tariff overview, the Subscription, the Rental agreement, any other agreement and the Terms & Conditions, with due observance of the provisions in Sections 9.5 and 9.6 of the Terms & Conditions. Gobike shall, unless otherwise specified elsewhere, make changes visible at least four weeks before the entry into effect by posting them on the Website and / or by a notification in the User account and / or by email. Changed Terms & Conditions will be placed in the User account and / or sent to the Account holder by email.
19.2 If the changes entail a substantial deviation from the service promised by Gobike, the Account holder is entitled to dissolve the Subscription, the Rental agreement or any other agreement on which the change is made.
20.1 Dutch law shall apply to all agreements concluded between the Account holder and Gobike, including a Subscription or Rental agreement, unless other law applies by virtue of mandatory law.
20.2 All disputes relating to an agreement concluded between the Account holder and Gobike shall be settled by the legally competent court.
POLICY ON PERSONAL DATA AND COOKIES
When the user creates or changes a profile and / or uses the website and related services, Gobike registers and uses data of the user.
Security of the user’s personal data is very important to Gobike.
Described below is how Gobike deals with personal data. It is indicated which data is recorded and stored, what the data is used for, how long it is stored and whether the data is shared with others.
Which personal data is recorded?
Gobike records name, username, email address and other data that is used during the sign up procedure via the website.
What is the personal data used for?
The user’s personal data is used to handle reservations and other orders, to take care of complaints, to send newsletters and to contact the user in case the user or Gobike needs to do so.
During the creation of a profile by the user, the user declares to be in agreement with receiving information and data concerning all Gobike services. User indicates this by placing a check mark at the acceptance of the general Terms and Conditions during the sign up process.
Is personal data shared with others?
In some circumstances, user’s personal data that is being used via the Website, is provided to third parties. The data is only provided to parties that are necessary for providing the services to the User.

What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file that is shared by a website and stored on a computer or electronic device with a memory unit. Cookies contain information that improves communication between the browser and the website. Cookies are a standard internet technology, used on and by the websites of Gobike.
Gobike can only read the cookies of user’s electronic devices that Gobike has placed itself. Cookies placed by other websites cannot be received or read by Gobike.
Cookie data helps Gobike to improve the content of its Website and services. This information can be shared with Gobike’s business partners as well as other third parties.
Basically there are two types of cookies: temporary and permanent. Temporary cookies are only used during the current visit of website and are automatically deleted when user closes the web browser. Permanent cookies are stored on the user’s electronic device without being removed by the Website.
Permanent cookies may be automatically deleted after a certain period of time (e.g. 180 days), but will be renewed each time the user uses the website.

Which cookies are used by Gobike and for what purpose?
Google Analytics cookies are used for research and reporting regarding the visitors and use of the Website, whereby the cookie data is shared without the User’s ID. The cookies are deleted after 365 days, whereby the cookies and its expiry date are renewed on every new visit to the website.
How can user prevent or remove cookies?
